How the bait-and-catch loop actually worksHow do you become the fish bait in Be a Fish Bait?
In Be a Fish Bait you're the bait, not the angler - so you get thrown in and caught rather than casting a rod yourself. Each catch feeds the four-stage core loop of become bait, get caught, fill your aquarium, then spend the cash on upgrades.
What happens after you get caught?
The fish you land goes into your aquarium, and only fish sitting in the aquarium earn cash - anything mid-catch or held in your inventory earns nothing. That is why an empty aquarium is the single biggest thing that stalls new players: drop even low-value fish in early to start the cash clock running.
What rewards do you actually get from being fish bait?
Cash from your stocked aquarium, plus rerolls and wheel spins earned from codes and likes milestones - rerolls are what roll new auras. The current OFFICIAL code alone hands you 10,000 Cash and a 5-minute timeskip before you've caught a single fish, so it pays to redeem codes first.
What is the fastest way to earn cash as bait?
Fill your aquarium as early as possible, then reinvest that first cash into your rod rather than aquarium capacity. A better rod catches higher-value fish, which compounds faster than raw storage - capacity only starts to matter once you're regularly catching more than you have room to hold.
How long does it take to learn Be a Fish Bait?
The core loop - become bait, get caught, fill the aquarium, spend cash - is simple enough to pick up in about 30 minutes. Getting efficient at rod-versus-aquarium spending order and aura rerolling takes longer, but nothing stops you from starting right away.

The 1.5x bonus zone most code lists skip
One thing a plain codes list won't tell you: there's a zone that gives a 1.5x bonus while you bait-fish inside it, and walking over to it costs nothing. Pair that with spending your first cash on the rod instead of aquarium capacity - so you're catching higher-value fish with a flat 1.5x on top - which is exactly the rod-first cash strategy in the full beginner guide. Plenty of new players never find that zone because it sits off the main loop path.
